Since I first read Fitzgek's work (: Necropsy lessons-Sebastian Fitzek & Michael Tsokos (Abgeschnitten)) I was excited about his writing style. It is not an  overestimatenment to characterize him as an expert in  psychological thriller and once again, he proved it.
Generally, when I want to read something that keeps me breathless, I choose Fitzek- eyes shut.
Like any other book of Fitzek, this one was also addictive from the beginning. I was having a hard time stop thinking about it even after finishing reading.

As usual, although I was suspicious and made some senarios of what was happening, I was holding my doubts, because with Fitzek you can never be sure that you understand or know what's going on. Of course, at the end this was confirmed.

I really can not describe how much I appreciate and admire  writers who are able to do this: they create a case that magnetizes your interest and in the end, all the attention you were paying was from the beginning pointed at the wrong place.

I read this book within a day, so that's a plus. I also liked that it is fast-paced.
What I didn't like at all, unfortunately, was the way psychological illnesses were presented.
Spoiler Like, of course, the only person with psychological problems ends up being the bad guy. And how was it relevant to the story that a fanatical vegan is behind the kidnapping of the highly pregnant HIV infected daughter that also happens to have a crazy ex-boyfriend?

Since I'm not so good with words, I'll put a link to Elea Brandt's review on Goodreads - she captures my thoughts quite well: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2338921666

I can definitely see why this author is so popular in Europe!

I had a very hard time putting this one down. Breakneck pacing throughout.

I think the medical "save" towards the end, along with one for-sure accomplice using that save as a device to explain a LOT of what had transpired (most of the "why" of who was doing what), both struck me as a bit of a copout.

But that will not stop me from seeking out more of this author's work!

Spotted this book in a bookstore and it caught my attention. Trying to avoid it and walking out of the store I did not manage. The summary just sounded too good.

Thankfully it was as captivating as it looked. A plane put in jeopardy is always an interesting topic. There are so many lives involved. The other part of the story was a kidnapping. Both are very intense and there is not much breathing space, there are a lot of coincidences too that can be disturbing but it worked.
It is a great puzzle and hard to figure out what is exactly happening.

Character wise it is a bit difficult to get a grip on the story. The story is so out of the ordinary that it is difficult to get a good view of how the people would be. It is just a big scary situation and everybody is on edge. That emotion is very clear though.

Take the day off if you pick up this book!
