super slow in the first half

LOVED LOVED LOVED the main family dynamics so heartwarming omg. especially the friendship between dill, scout, and jem. all of them were great

i genuinely loved all of the characters too, they were lovely and real

very interesting to read stuff that's set and based around segregation and the racism targeted towards black and still be able to use some of that stuff today with the whole palestine thing going on !! 

def would've lowkey hated this if i actually read it in high school

I see why this book is a classic! It’s good - and picked up in the middle. I enjoyed the court case and found the discussion of race to be particularly interesting when read over 50 years later. As someone who’s trying to cover the “classics,” this one was worth it.
