Great companion book to Love Unchanged. The miscommunication was devastating, but the love was worth it. Hot and steamy as always.

Lumina’s dreamt of the day she could meet a Draalian alien. Zoriss never thought he would never meet a female his age… Too bad when he finally crash lands into Lumina’s life he’s bent on revenge.

THE BLURB

Zoriss has spent three months trapped in a malfunctioning stasis capsule; paralysed and unable to move, he’s left to stew on his rage and plan his revenge when he escapes. Zoriss doesn’t know what happened to his clutch mate and brother, only hoping that he wasn’t kidnapped as well. When an escape opportunity offers itself, he springs into action. Only to discover his escape capsule is malfunctioning and he’s crashing to Earth.

Lumina is like one of many women on Earth; just wishing to find someone to love her in return. It’s been 90 years since the last male was born on Earth, and human women have set their sites elsewhere. When the government allows three different alien species to help repopulate, Lumina falls in love with the idea of a Draalian male. When one falls from the sky, quite literally, its like winning the lottery. Her dreams are about to quickly turn into a nightmare when they become stranded together with the galaxy’s most pissed off male. It doesn’t help that a translator isn’t working and they can’t talk to each other.

TONE OF THE BOOK

Love On Impact is a neutral toned novel with serious undertones. There isn’t any comedy. It’s fairly drama heavy.

SENSITIVE TOPICS

This novel is aimed at mature readers since there are numerous erotica scenes.

It features some action scenes, although not particularly gory in any manner.

The novel covers issues such as betrayal, trust and kidnapping.

SERIES SYNOPSIS

Love On Impact is a standalone novel within the Cosmic Kissed series. I suggest checking out Cosmic Kissed Series Review page to see my recommended reading order.

The novel is 218 pages long, making it shorter than a standard romance novel length (of 300 pages average).

Each novel in the series follows a different group of characters, so far in the series all between human women and alien men.

REVIEW

Love On Impact is a slightly more serious novel in that the characters, particularly the male Zoriss, has a number of issues to overcome. Unfortunately Zoriss has spent the last few months paralysed, unable to even scratch an itch. This has resulted in him mentally suffering; he’s had three months to stew in his rage and plan revenge. Even when presented with the kindness of Lumina, Zoriss’ past history of being betrayed and kidnapped means its hard to overcome his issues.

There’s enough moonlight for me to see a moose calf across the river at the water’s edge. He dips his ungainly head as he takes a drink. By the dark patches on his legs which I can only assume are blood, I know with certainty this is the one I came here to save.

The novel is primarily about healing after tragedy, learning to trust and live once again. You can even see in small details and scenes how Alana has given the characters and readers to heal and trust, as is the case of the quote above which shows that life does find a way.

Love On Impact has a somewhat heavy drama plot, with an undertone of adventure. The story is often pushed forward with the characters emotions and actions; misunderstandings and miscommunications fuelling the majority of tension within the novel. Of course there is some external tension such as the threat of Zoriss dying from his injuries after his escape pod crashes.

I really enjoyed the world building in the Cosmic Kissed series, and Love On Impact gives a wonderful first impression into the universe that the multiple authors have created.

FINAL WORD

Love On Impact is a drama driven story and a great introduction to the Cosmic Kissed series. It’s a fun read with adventure and tension.
