Recently I started thinking about the characters in this book, and that I really should finish it to see what happens. Then I remembered that I did finish it. Not much happened. So I don't know if the fact that I think about them counts for much or that this book was so uneventful that I forgot I had finished it supersedes that.

So. Much. Fun. Tonally similar to Where'd You Go, Bernadette this is a laugh out loud romp with a huge heart and a witty and delightfully mean brain. I love books like this where I feel dramatically differently about the characters at the beginning and end. Semple is a master of satire and backstory reveals and I loved hating Eleanor until I completely loved her. The whole book takes place over one day (with some flashbacks) and what a day it is! The graphic novel that forms part of the book is going to be gorgeous (it's one-colour in the ARC but will be colour in the finished book). Bring on October!

Bridget Jones' diary for the next decade... More of a 45ish year old mom doing the best she can, but pretty much barely holding it together. I guess it makes me feel less like a failure to see that we all just do the best we can.
I guess julia roberts is developing his for a series for hbo. I'm not super excited and won't be getting hbo to see this.

Odd book - emotionally unstable mother, son who enjoys makeup, Seahawks, sister married to New Orleans royalty and religion. I said it was odd.

This was a fun, fast read. It wasn't as good as her last book at all - however, it still carries her style. I also liked the ending.
