It was an interesting body of work, but I prefer her black and white pictures

don't miss Westerbeck's introduction

there are some spectacular photographs here - if you have any interest in historical street photography (especially from Chicago), this is a must.

Beautiful compilation of Maier's photographs. An excellent reminder to look up from our phones and observe the world -- because art is everywhere.

With so little text, this is best consumed as a supplement to a biography. Photo editing remains a point of contention with Vivian Maier's oeuvre given her process of working, and the circumstances in which her images were discovered. Some of the plates presented are stunning; others less so. Fun fact: Maier shot more than 100,000 images in her lifetime.

I loved the introduction by Colin Westerbeck and found it to be really informative.. unlike what John Maloof did in his documentary. I'm glad he didn't contribute much to this book and that he let the actual experts speak. (I'm thankful that Maloof collected her works though)
