I remember reading a Moomin book as a child (Finn Family Moomintroll?). At the time I liked it, but was confused by it. Reading these stories now, I can see why. They're quite surreal, and I'm not sure I always like the behaviour of the Moomins (they don't always seem as nice as they sound like they're supposed to be). The tales are interesting in their strangeness however

I adore the Moonmins and these two short, yet very different, short stories are just as lovely. The first one tells the story of a child who was so mistreated by her carer that she simply stopped being visible. Time with Moominmama and the rest of the family though is the remedy! The second story is a Christmas one and, although timely, it just didn't quite fit with the former tale (even though it was wonderful and funny).

I was already familiar with the story of the Invisible Child from an episode of Moomins I watched, but hadn't heard of the Fir Tree story before. The book also features a short directory of the characters that often appear and/or are apart of the world Moominvalley is located in.

This lovely book took me by surprise, as I wasn't sure what to expect from the art style. Despite it being easy to read, it's also very well written, even if it is a children's novel.
