wow wow wow. this one was so freaking good. when you read a Catharina book you always know you are going to get an emotional, spicy, and angsty. Elena is desperate to help save her mother and is willing to do almost anything to help. then comes in Alexander Kennedy . he needs a wife so that he can take ownership into his role in the family business. so they work out a marriage of convenience. he pays for her mother to have state of the art care and she plays the role of his future wife. the only rule is, this is not for love. there are so many emotions in this book but I loved every second of it. there was something so special about them as a couple. they both had a lot of growth before they could truly be together. this one made me smile, laugh, and cry.

4.5 stars

tropes:
- marriage of convenience
- billionaire
- age gap
- fake relationship
- forced proximity
- grumpy x sunshine
- best friend's brother

This is the first Catharina Maura's book I have ever read, and I really like this one. I considered to give this a second read many time, if not for my mounting TBR, I would've done so.

Elena's story is so heartbreaking, like a cinderella in modern times. Catharina tends to make the heroine's family really awful in every book, you can't help but to hate them so much. This story is very angsty, but it makes up with the wonderful grovel at the end.

I could not put this down, it was so good. It was so satisfying seeing everything fall into place. The only thing I didn’t love and the reason it’s not five stars is
the third act breakup really dragged on and on
.

This delivered exactly what it said it would. I enjoyed this and read through it quickly. I liked Elena and Alec even if some of the dialogue was cringey. It was a fun read with fairly low stakes.

This is was very disappointing.

I’ve been wanting to read this book for so long as I kept getting quotes on tiktok on my fyp almost every day.

But the writing was very soap opera style.

The dialogue was very cringey.

And the male character with his possessive alpha male personality was just too much.

I had such high hopes for this because I love a marriage of convenience, grovelling and unrequited love which are all tropes in this book just not well executed at all.

I still have lots of books from this author on my tbr and I’m kinda scared of getting disappointed now because they are all books I was looking forward to reading.

Ahhhhh!!! This book was so good!!

A marriage of convenience, billionaire alpha male, best friend from childhood’s older brother, with an almost Cinderella feel!

Elena is desperate to care for her mother and make money after spending all of her trust fund caring for her mother, who is in a hospitalized and in a coma. After her father and stepmother, brother and half sister turn her away, she has no where to go, no one to turn to.
After being turned away, someone suggests a gentleman’s club where she can potentially make extra money on the side. There she runs into Alexander, her childhood best friend’s broody older brother. Alexander needs a wife, and Elena needs money for her mom, so Alexander proposes a marriage of convenience.

I loved, loved loved this story!! Ahhh, Alexander was sooo HOT! I love an alpha boss that takes control.

Elena is so sweet, I feel so bad for what her family does to her, but she stays strong and stands up for herself and her mom!

Elena and Alexander are so cute together, I just love them. Their relationship was so cute to watch (read) as it grew and developed. Alexander softening towards her was so adorable!

Highly recommend this story, all the stars for Forever After All!!
