Another charming read from Liasson. She never fails to bring a smile to my face and the sweet feeling that love conquers all. As usual, the setting and secondary characters add depth and warmth to the overall storyline. I'm counting to the days to the next installment.

Gabby is a lawyer by day and an inspiring writer at night. Her first day of class is almost ruined by a man who cuts her off and takes her parking spot. Even if his smile does make her go all tingly. He just so happens to be her teacher. He is suffering from writers block after his ex accusing him of stealing her ideas.

He is recently divorced and taking care of his daughter, he doesn't need this distraction. Unfortunately his heart isn't listening. His daughter has also seemed to have fallen for Gabby, which makes it even harder to resist her. A wonderful cast of secondary characters makes this a fun and delightful read.

Gabby Langdon has spent her whole life trying to make other people happy going so far as to even becoming a lawyer to please her doctor father. For the longest time it was ok only because she didn't know what she wanted to do, but it's not her passion, and slowly she's coming to resent the life she's found herself living.

But when Gabby discovers an old box of her mother's belongings, she begins to see a different side of her mother, and realize that what Gabby wants most out in life is the thing her mother was never able to accomplish before her death: to be a writer.

Despite what her family views as a passing fancy, something that will never be a reliable career, Gabby signs up for a writing class at the local college taught by none other than Caden Marshall who shot to fame with his the popularity of his debut novel, but whose name has also been dragged through the mud when his ex claimed he stole her ideas.

Caden just wanted to return to Angel Falls to start over with his young daughter. To get away from the gossip and conjecture that seems to follow him everywhere, Cade has found himself unable to write, and as it's too painful to fathom never writing again, Cade has decided to take a teaching position where the only writing he'll have to do is research. But then Cade meets Gabby, and immediately recognizes her talent. He's loathe to get into another relationship with the potential to come crashing down, but they just can't seem to stay away from one another no matter how hard they try.

I loved Miranda Liasson's first book in the series [b:Then There Was You|36204794|Then There Was You (Angel Falls, #1)|Miranda Liasson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1513712142l/36204794._SY75_.jpg|57835358], so I was really looking forward to The Way You Love Me. I was pleasantly surprised by Gabby and Cade's story. Just the idea of Gabby being so undecided in the what she wants out of life and, throughout the story, seeing things slowly fit into place for her was really satisfying.

Likewise with Cade, seeing where he starts out at the beginning of the story: not being able to trust his instincts about his writing talent, but in seeing Gabby and seeing her writing knowing it for was it is - talent - he begins to trust himself a little and it opens his creativity up again. I loved that there was no resentment on his part where Gabby's writing is concerned. Cade's hangups are his problem, he doesn't lump those onto Gabby, at least as far as the writing goes. Cade's ex still has a lasting impact on how he views relationships. Mostly, his main focus is ensuring that this daughter is happy and knows she's loved despite her mother not being a regular (or reliable fixture) in her life. Cade doesn't want to risk that with someone else so he's closed himself off relationship-wise.

While I was reading I realized that there are a lot of hurdles that Cade and Gabby have to jump through before finally reaching their HEA, but I felt like Miranda Liasson dealt with everything really well keeping the story from feeling too congested and each element had its place within the story. There were some elements - namely the continuing issues regarding Caden's ex - that I felt could have been given a little more page time in regards to the resolution, but I didn't feel like it was handled poorly by any means.

Also, Rafe and Katie get quite the amount of secondary page time. I feel like I have to mention it because there's so much setup going on for their book that occurs in The Way You Love Me. I'm here for it honestly. I was supremely disappointed when the teaser at the end of this book was over because that means I now have to wait until next Christmas - as of right now it seems like that's when their book will take place. Rafe and Katie are that secondary potential couple that authors tend to draw out over the course of the earlier books in the series in order to torture their readers :) I kid! But I will say that this book has only piqued my interest even more to see how their situation will get resolved.

I liked the premise of this story. The whole villainized best-selling author turned professor and the aspiring writer, student & lawyer.

I adored how protective and attentive Cade was with his daughter Ava. Him watching YouTube videos to learn how to braid her hair was one of my favorite things. I don't always love children in books because they tend to either overshadow the rest of the story or fade off into the background but the author did an excellent job of including Ava just the right amount.

The story moved slowly at first and then picked up and I couldn't put it down. I really like that there wasn't a lot of drama or back and forth between Cade and Gabby. They handled their baggage and fears in a mature and realistic manner. I do wish that the relationship between Cade and Gabby once they had officially gotten together was explored a little more but since there was so much time spent on the build-up to their relationship I don't feel like it took anything away from the story. Overall this was a sweet, heart-warming story that I would definitely read again.

I do have to admit that, while I loved Gabby and Cade, I found myself quite distracted by the foreshadowing of Rafe and Katilyn's romance. With the addition of the first chapter in their upcoming book at the end of this one, I cannot even begin to explain how excited I am for All I Want for Christmas in September!

The Way You Love Me took me on a roller coaster with high highs and low lows. I had a love/hate relationship with this book. One minute I loved it and the next I wanted to quit. It was consistently like this for me. I’m glad I finished it. I loved seeing the hero as a single parent. His daughter was a scene stealer.
I cannot freaking wait for the next book. It is set up so nicely in this book. Some books you read and don’t love, but they set things up for books to come that you can’t discount that.

I voluntarily read an early copy from Forever Romance.

This was such a charming story filled with wonderful characters. It was cute and fun and it filled me up and left me with a big smile on my face!

Cade and Gabby’s first meeting was priceless! There was a little bit of animosity and challenge happening but it was also so entertaining, it kicked the story off perfectly. I loved them getting to know each other and learning their histories and how they got to where they’re at in their life. Cade is the sweetest and loved him with his daughter, it was incredibly heartwarming. I really liked Gabby, forging her own path and really trying to figure out who she was. Together they were great. I loved their attraction and chemistry and the conflict they were dealing with while their feelings developed. There’s a nice build happening and a great push and pull between. Their attraction is scorching. There's are a few ups and downs and a bit of mild drama but it was so worth it in the end. They made my heart melt!

There were sweet moments, moments of longing, and some emotional ones too. There's a wonderful cast of characters with these awesome little side stories happening to make it feel full, really pulling you in. I was captivated by the charm and genuineness of the wonderful family dynamic that was happening. I love the details I learned about Gabby’s brother Rafe and am excited about his story next.

The Way You Love Me was a heartwarming and incredibly enjoyable read. I loved that it was dual POV so I could see the characters thought process, they had great internal dialogue. It was a light and easy read with a decent pace, sometimes fast in spots but pretty steady. This was a feel-good story that was endearing and delightful that filled up your heart and left you smiling. Another excellent story in the Angel Falls series.
