McEwan is always sharp and witty, but this book ultimately tries too hard to convey its message, rendering it a bit silly.

Second book of my book marathon yesterday: I really enjoy McEwan's style, and this was an entertaining romp but afterwards I kind of thought... this is a really unnecessary book, isn't it?

Wasn't thrilled with this. I enjoyed the prose and the length but overall felt the plot was lacking.
