This book seemed to have so much packed into a few pages. It could have been it’s own trilogy. A whole plot of Sarah’s past that is interesting enough that I wish it could explored in more detail.

Audio: It's rare that I say this, but this narrator was horrible. Like nails on a chalkboard, horrible. I do not recommend the audio.

Story: My Top 3 Reader Pet Peeves:
~ Ship-jumping halfway into or near the end of a series.
~ Throwing the first love interest under the bus to justify the second love interest and the new ship.
Spoiler~ Allegiant style endings.

This was guilty of all three.

So much potential. Wasted. A good idea ruined by poor execution. Too much babbling inside her own head instead of building the supporting characters. They basically stood by and did nothing. Flimsy explanations and reactions that seemed out of character based on the small bits the reader was given.

That ending! AHHHHH! This was somewhat of a satisfying ending to the Mila 2.0 series. The problem that I had was that there was so much time between reading the first and second books and then reading this book that I had forgotten a lot of the key points from the other books. If you haven't read this series, I recommend reading it back to back.

I listened to the audiobook version of the book and it took awhile for me to get used to the narrator's voice. She didn't sound like how I imagined Mila would sound. But, after awhile, I got used to it and was able to enjoy the book.

Overall, I enjoyed the ending, but it still left a lot of unanswered questions. We are left to our own imaginations as to if the inevitable happens. I liked this series as a whole. The exploration of android versus human was interesting and I liked the bio ethical questions that this series tried to address. I recommend this series to fans of android stories and sci-fi.

Redemption by Debra Driza is a heart wrenching conclusion to the Mila trilogy. Objectively I give the book 3.5 stars, but personally I believe that it deserves 4 stars.
Debra Driza has really changed the tone of the book - compared to the previous ones, Redemption has a more subtle tone, and you need to pay a bit more attention to feel the strong vibes of the book. It has less action compared to Renegade, in fact the title is perfect - Mila is on a trip to redeem herself. The theme shifts also, there is more talk about doing good for other people. I loved that the roller coaster ride I started with Mila as a confused teenager and then the even more confused android searching for her place in the world, and most importantly, whom to trust - cause everyone has their own agenda and she finds deception at every turn, this ride has alas, come to an end. Mila has matured and makes more sensible decisions. The character development in Lucas, Hunter and Daniel is also good, these supporting characters lift the story in a wonderful manner. The ending I feel was a bit rushed, it did not provide the closure I wanted. But who knows, Driza may surprise us in the future.
A couple of things I had an issue with - the pace and the antagonist.
The first half consisted of Mila and Lucas hiding in Lucas' brother's cabin, up in the mountains. Mila after shooting Hunter's stepfather Peyton, was ditched by Quinn in the desert, who had forced her to commit murder in the first place. Lucas finds Mila in the desert, she has lost her memory. The half then goes on with Mila being devastated on regaining her memory, Lucas searching about her origins - more information about Daniel and Nicole. The second half has Mila and Lucas leaving the cabin, in order to search more about Sarah, the girl whose organic matter is present in Mila. Between this and the last few chapters, I felt that the pace could be better. The way the author wrote the descriptions, at times the expressions did not match the dialogue, some places I felt it was forced - there was no need to elaborate so much. Also the transition between scenes could have been more smooth. Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading Redemption.
The second irritation with the book was the antagonist - Holland. He appeared really late, and was a bit stereotypical. He did not scare me, and his role of a villain could have been better portrayed.
Finally I just want to say that fans of Mila will be shocked, but also pleasantly surprised. For those who were not planning on reading the last book - do. You will not regret it. I didn't :)

This book was a wild ride. I didn't expect the ending and I always like it when that happens.
Spoiler I am sad that she died, but I understand why she did it. I just wish she got a traditional happy ending
