While I enjoyed the world built here and the badass warrior-nurse, I thought the story was fairly mundane in this volume.

This volume was much more engaging, particularly toward the end. Will probably continue with the series.

A thoroughly enjoyable, short and fast-paced sci-fi comic following a woman with combat experience (in a new generation where only men are trained) who helps her community fight invading aliens that have been plaguing the human race for almost a century. The art is nice and there are allusions to more depth to the plotline, but this was an intriguing start.

The story is a bit predictable and follows some tried and true sci-fi tropes, but the characters were engaging and I think it could be a really good fit for teens who are encountering this material for the first time.
