A wholesome slice of life manga where a man with a life filled with abuse gets to start a new life in a new world that always encourages him to have fun and take more breaks.

It's a really fun fantasy isekai, it has cute slimes and other cute characters, and it encourages me to give myself better working conditions and time for fun in my life. This has become my go-to comfort book when the uncertainties and pain of taxes and work and being an adult attacks my soul.

I will admit this has the same plot hole as every other isekai manga though. Hundreds of people from Earth have been isekaid into this world, but randomly only Japanese people have been chosen for this out of the entire Earth's population? That makes no sense. Still a soothing story even if that one plot point is silly though.

SpoilerI will caution you that there's a lot of child labor in this, not just the mind of an adult in a child's body but also actual children doing life threatening work as adventurers. There's also depictions if child abuse both in Earth, and bad guys trying to do child abuse in the fantasy setting before they're stopped.

Also there's a magic pandemic story arc in here which might be too soon for some people who've survived 2020.

4.5 out of 5 stars

This is a wonderfully relaxing isekai that still has the familiar feel you'd expect from one, but sets itself a part from the rest. It's not focused on combat, getting stronger, or some big mission or quest. It's the story of a man who's had a hard life, and got reborn into a magical world and is living his first life with happiness in it.

This book was a pallet cleanser for me. The relaxed story line, high quality art, and overall feel of the story was dang near perfect. I only took a half a star off because since I read so quickly, part of my requirement for a perfect review is that I can picture myself in the world far after I've finished the story. And this one, while I could technically, I didn't feel any attraction to the idea. It's your basic, classic medieval-but-slightly-not fantasy world. That and the characters, while consist ant, didn't feel fleshed out enough aside from MC. But don't get me wrong, it all fit very nicely within the story itself.
