Lara Hogan is one of my favorite people in the leadership space. She has solid advice for newcomers to management, and good reminders for those who have been in management for a while who may’ve picked up bad habits along the way.

I’ve been following her blog for many years since I first experienced her management style at an old job and it resonated with me a lot... She is the kind of person who didn’t want to be a manager, so her advice is about having a low ego and putting your team first.

Quick read, good advice, 4.5 rounded up.

It's concise, well-structured, easy-to-digest, and actionable. I like the usage of tangible "tools"/frameworks and the bullet-point guides question at the end of each chapter, as it gives you something to think about and work with, rather than the usual vague abstract concepts from other management-related books. Even if you aren't on a management or team leader track yet, or even if you aren't planning on being one, it's still worthwhile read just to understand the mindset of what it takes to transition into one.

A lot of great information packed into a small package - provided some interesting ways to approach management related challenges that I hadn't thought of before. I will definitely be going back and doing some of the end-of-chapter exercises.
