This is the perfect beach read! A sweet story about two half sisters coming together after a long separation to fix up their grandparents beach house with some romance thrown in. I liked that this book was told from both Blake and Kat's perspectives so the reader could see both sides of the story. I also really liked Blake and Noah. However, I wasn't as big a fan of Kat and Henry. It was obvious Kat wasn't supposed to be likable at the beginning but to me it felt like the growth happened a little too late and a little slowly. I appreciated that Henry helped her grow but I felt like they were still so different I wasn't sold on them. I also felt like it was a stretch to feel like Kat was ready to be a step mom anytime soon. That being said I really did enjoy this book. You basically get two romances in one and a story about a family. I also loved the setting and always enjoy a book about fixing up a house. Worth adding to your summer reads shelf!

- this was a cute, summer-y read! Definitely rec for fans of the Parent Trap!!
- I started out really not vibing with Kat! The rich influencer personality was a bit too strong, and it was hard to sympathize with her (especially with how mean she could be) when you had Blake's pov to contrast it with.
- I was genuinely impressed by Kat's character arc by the end! I wasn't sure how they'd redeem her, but it worked!
- I loved all the descriptions of Destin! I've never been before, but I really felt like I had spent a summer there by the end of this one!

I loved this. Took me till I was about 50% of the way through but then I got SUPER invested. This was a delight and I even teared up a bit at the end. Not to be missed for the summer!

This was a cute book and I liked it. My least favorite part was what a mean person Kat was to Blake constantly and how Blake was able to constantly forgive her and give her another chance for all the awful things she said. She definitely needs therapy and I hope she got it. And I guess it made sense in the context of the book that Blake with her personality would find a way to forgive and support her sister but geeze. Otherwise I thought it was a good fast read!

4.5!

Switching POVs between Kat, a higher-maintenance influencer, and Blake, a current dog-nanny; these two half-sister have to get along for the summer while they work on renovating their late father’s beach house in Destin to sell.

Kat is the sister that grew up with their father physically in her life although nothing she did ever seemed good enough for his expectations. Blake is the sister that felt abandoned by their father after he stopped visiting when her mother died when she was a child. This book features the tumultuous relationship the girls have with each other and their feelings regarding their father (also while they each also fall in love)!

I really enjoyed this duo debut from Alison and Bradeigh! This was an entertaining and heartbreaking at times story about Kat and Blake’s journey towards being friends again and forming some type of relationship bond from such a difficult start.

I personally enjoyed Blake’s character way more, mostly because she was more like me personality wise! Kat starts off pretty high maintenance and at times she was super frustrating to listen to (even though I totally understand her reactions/feelings). Blake just definitely handled her problems in a way more similar to how I would. Both the love interests were super cute though and fit what each sister really needs.

I’m definitely excited to read The Comeback Summer by Ali Brady soon!
