I would personally like to thank this volume for introducing us to one of the best characters in the series-the man, the myth, the legend, Kyousuke Hori. Holy shit, I love this man! He's so fucking weird and hyper and I just fucking love it! Not to mention he's the family whipping boy but not in a mean-spirited way (since he brings a LOT of it on himself). The Hori family dynamic is super dysfunctional and I FUCKING LOVE IT!

Briefly touching on other topics, I enjoyed the scene involving Remi and Sakura. I love that this series takes the time to touch on side characters and give the reader just a little more info about them without it seeming shoehorned or unnatural. I do like Remi and Sakura's friendship and look forward to seeing more of it in the future.

The comedy in this volume was spot-on as usual (mostly thanks to Kyousuke) and the dramatic moments were toned down considerably to make this volume more lighthearted than the last. A tough balancing act, but this series continues to nail it.

I CANNOT stress enough how Hori and Miyamura became a couple four volumes in. Something that I've noticed as I got older is that I've started losing patience with shoujo romance manga that wait until close to or the VERY END of the series before making the main duo a couple. I know people harp on instalove in novels and manga, but holy fuck I'll take instalove over PROLONGING THE INEVITABLE FOR MOST OF THE SERIES. And before ANYONE comments, "But you love Kaguya-sama Love is War and THAT series does it!" the difference is that prolonging the inevitable is the WHOLE FUCKING POINT OF THAT SERIES. I'm talking about series where it's ABUNDANTLY CLEAR that the main pair love each other and want to date each other but DON'T either because of unnecessary drama or reasons unknown to mankind. This series has struck a nice balance and I think the progression of their relationship was handled well. I'm seriously just thrilled that they became a couple early on a spared the collective population of unnecessary bullshit.

Anyway, those are my thoughts. Love this series so very, very much!
