I've never read nor seen the Twilight books, so I can't contribute to the commentary about Hush, Hush as it relates to them. I put this on my reading queue in 2010 so I can't recall where I heard of it. Anyhow, I must first admit, I plowed through 350+ pages in 4 days, so it was riveting. I am not a fan of fantastical plots. In fact, I prefer things left to the imagination. So once the details began to emerge toward the end of the book, I was doing some eye rolling and feeling offended. I just don't buy into this sort of thing.

Yes, much of the book was illogical and wouldn't happen in real life, including a mother who is away that much, a biology teacher whose content is so objectionable, etc. But it's a book. We read because it's not real, yes?

Yes, I did find myself annoyed and offended at the abuse present in the "romance." Unfortunately, this is not fiction and does happen. My greatest concern is that, since this book is geared at teens, that they might find this sort of behavior acceptable and expected. But I'm also not into censoring literature. Instead, I parent my children to teach them right from wrong and to teach about social dynamics and relationship dynamics.

All of this to say, no, not an accurate, believable piece of work. Yes, there were some disturbing concepts. No, I didn't care for the ending. But it was entertaining and it was a page turner, and that is why I read.

So this book has some major storyline flaws and is borderline neurotic with it's jumping around and over abundance of villians. I like the premise. I like that the bad-boy really was bad. It had confusing moments and its share of eye-rolling-cheesefest. But here's the thing, it kept me entertained and I read it in one sitting. I read to be entertained and so for that, I give it 3 stars. I'll overlook some of the pathetic (eek, I'm sorry...kinda) aspects, such as bomb threat, the police force "investigations", and Vee (the character as a whole! Ugh!), and I'll give the sequel a shot.

I don't think I have loved a book so much than this! It was perfect and I continued to want to read the series! It was torture to wait for the 2nd but well worth the wait! Patch is the perfect guy!

I read this book years ago but every single time someone asks for a YA Fantasy/Mystery/Supernatural romance, I always fall back on Hush, Hush.

It reminded me of Twilight, except with an archangel instead of a vampire.

I have been sucked into the world created by Becca Fitzpatrick. And I'm glad! I don't normally gravitate towards stories where there are angels involved, simply because I am not a fan of angels or angel related folklore. Angels frighten me. However, I had heard so many good things about HUSH, HUSH I knew I had to give it a read. I'm very happy I did.

HUSH, HUSH was a quick read. I read the book in less than 24 hours. I liked Nora very much because she felt real to me. Her close relationship with her best girlfriend Vee is endearing and believable. The dialogue, between the teens reminded me of scenes from Pretty Little Liars, but it worked quite well. There was plenty of intrigue throughout the book to keep my brain swirling as I read. Who was the mysterious person following Nora? What's Patch's REAL story? Can Elliott be trusted? Is Nora losing her mind?

Overall, HUSH, HUSH was a very enjoyable book and one I would recommend to anyone who enjoys YA supernatural romance. I am anxious now to read its sequel CRESCENDO.

I wanted to like this book, because I love the mythology of nephilim and fallen angels. However, I was so disgusted by the superficial characters, the shallow plot and the bad writing that I couldn't get past chapter 12 and had to give up reading the whole book and just decided to read the summary after that.

Thank God I did, because I don't think I could've stood finishing the book considering the direction the book went. It was like Twilight, but with angels, except much worse because at least Edward's goal was not to kill Bella. However, Patch's entire purpose in the story was to kill Nora, and when scary things start happening to her when Patch is around, she doesn't think to report it to her best friend, her mom or any authority figure. What the shit is that? I'm not a fan of books where the girl loses all common sense and sense of self preservation just because they think the guy is attractive. I also don't like stories when girls find guys attractive when they have no redeeming qualities past their "attractive" bad boy looks. Do we really need another book out there teaching girls it's okay to give up everything for a good looking guy? The fact that Nora is so willing to give up her life for a guy she barely knows is kinda fucked up.

This book was wholly disappointing and I can't believe the crap publishers are letting get through these days.

Where to start with this one? Patch is amazing. Straight up - one of my favorite "love interests" of all of the books I've ever read. I wasn't entirely sure what the premise was because I hadn't read the synopsis in a long time, so I kind of went in a little naive and ignorant. The book was written entirely too perfect. It just blew my mind. Fitzpatrick's style is dead on for being able to imagine everything that is happening. I haven't yet read a book with angels in it. I have always been huge on vampires and lycanthropes, etc., so this was a new "creature" for me. I'm digging it! Can't wait to read the next book!

I'm curious as to how people felt about Nora, she reminded me a lot of Bella from Twilight. I wonder if people ragged on Fitzpatrick for creating a weak female who would sacrifice herself for her boy toy? It doesn't bother me. I feel like I connect really well with "weak" females. Girls that fall deep in love. *shrugs*

OK, this book is great. It took me a second to realize what was going on, especially when things were being seen but not happening. Love the characters and the twists that were taken with the relationships and themselves. I couldn't put it down, so you know that's a great book for me. Can't wait to read the next one.
