This really didn't do it for me. The reveal hit me like a nudge - I'm not sure why. The main narrator was doing like a brooding style voice, and maybe that came across as low-energy? The story was interesting, but I didn't really find it compelling. Maybe I would have if I had read it on paper? Glad that this wasn't my first book by Ms. Foley because I wouldn't be tremendously excited.

...Yet another thriller that I did not enjoy.  It was filled with characters that had one main facet which was being awful.  Would not recommend.

I picked this up for a little mystery read. It is my first Lucy Foley book, and I had high hopes. I am more of a horror/thriller reader and mystery books do not typically keep my interest. I actually liked this book. I was shocked. I found myself actually interested in the characters and all of their secrets. The characters felt well fleshed out, and there was a good amount of twists. It was enjoyable.

The amount of times I visibly gasped in excitement and disgust is great, with the twists that I half expected and didn't see coming at all. It's just brilliant. And the audiobook with the various of voice actors switching for each POV??? My god, chief's kiss.
Bury me with this book like how they buried that body.

The characters are not rich or distinct enough for a multiple-POV narrative to work well.
