This was a great series! I would love to see Bella and Henny flourish within their relationship but without the good life. I would love for them to go to college and travel the world to show that people actually do get out the good when one shows them a different lifestyle.
I’m so happy for Ethic and Alani. I’m happy they have their happy ending because baby I was stressed. I’m also hoping that Morgan matures with her new babies. That she really becomes selfless and thinks of her family and others. Ethic has given up so much to make sure she is happy, taken care of and so much more. I just hope she finally sees that.

This. Nigga. Here.
Whew! This was a read. A black love story for the ages. The twists, turns, up, and downs of this emotional rollercoaster had me experiencing so many feels. At points I didn't want to put these books down and couldn't. These characters remained with me even in my sleep. This is a story of love, forgiveness, healing, growth, and resilience. Ethic. Alani. Nannie. Bella. Eazy. Morgan. Messiah. Bleu. Isa. Aria. Ahmeek. NYAIR (who I don't think gets enough love). We watch these characters walk through so much turmoil, brokenness, and healing. They grow through it all. One of my favorite things about this book besides the characters and storyline is the accompanying playlists and infusion of music through this story. These books come with their very own soundtrack that has me all in my feels with songs on repeat. If you wanna snot-nose ugly cry, experience full belly laughs, and wade through every emotion with these characters this is the book for you. Our very own black love story. This story has revitalized my imagination and creativity. Thank you Ashley Antoinette for telling our stories with such care and passion. Keep writing! We want more!

I don't feel right giving this book 3 stars because I loved this series, however this book was nerve wrecking. I honestly don’t understand the back and forth between Ethic and Alani, and the fact they always had sex instead of talking it out was odd. I also wasn’t happy about the threesome scene it just didn’t seem authentic to them. Morgan is still selfish, it’s always about Mo even if she give Ethic her “blessing.” Something is off about Bash to me, idk what it is. I really feel so bad for Messiah, he didn’t deserve to go out like that. I still love Bella and Easy, can’t wait to see Bella’s growth. I read this series back to back and now I need a break from the Oakfors!

Thoughts

SPOILERS

Man, wrapping up this series is something else. It is a journey for sure.

I actually appreciate that it is as long as it is because you cannot tell this story in a few books. After what happens in the first book that is going to take time to sort out.

I don't like how Ethic played with Dolce but I understand she should have left him alone after he kept dumping her for any other woman that walked in.

I also don't like how he moved on Alani KNOWING!! And that woman kept telling him to leave her alone.

But besides those things I get the love for Ethic he stands by his people. He loves his kids above all else. He really just wants a woman who will be a good mom for his babies and that can love him through it all. So I have respect for him for sure.

The love story of Ethic & Alani is definitely one that makes you believe in hood love come to life. I’m still in awe as I smiled, laughed, cried and cooed within the duration of this story. I’m glad I decided to pick up this series and I actually see myself rereading it down the line.
