DNF at 30% or so.

I just can’t be invested in a series that initially seemed to have a good message yet just... didn’t carry it out successfully or meaningfully.

And when I read that book 3 justified and/or glorified self-harm... no thanks. Former self-harmer here, and while I’ve come to accept my scars and tolerate their visibllity, I would never glorify something that’s so damaging and unsafe, nor will I ever condone an author that glorifies it.

A great followup. Lots of interesting ideas both in physical as well as societal modifications. Really just a bang up science fiction world. The Pretty world is actually pretty interesting - with the different roles of the young, middle and older pretties. It does seem like the new pretties only purpose is to part and it's not clear what the transition is between the two age groups. It also would be nice to see just a little more into the characters heads - though we see Tally pretty well.
