I loved the perspectives in this book! Our story was written by Finlay, of the orphanage, and Honey Bee, of Brathelthwaite Boarding School. The chapters are hilarious because Finlay and Honey Bee are takin turns to tell the same story and will often comment about how the other is telling the story incorrectly. This is such a unique and refreshing way to tell a story and I really enjoyed that aspect of it.

The plot itself was an ok middle grade. It had some fantasy elements and decent characters, but it didn’t wow me.

Loved the first book in this series, but finding the narration style of this one irksome (although I'm sure children of the target audience age would love it!)

Excellent, great fun. Moriarty does the best sorts of fantasy for kids, where there are real stakes and danger but also humor, discovery, and a kind of central beating heart. I don't know if I personally like this as much as Bronte Mettlestone or The Stolen Prince but that's just preference.
