This was very interesting to read but I wish the ending hadn't been that - it was so bittersweet and while I do commend the ending for going there, I personally wanted them to be happy.

I also wish there'd been a lot more development of the relationship, as well as I wish we had seen character development (and information) from Aya. I feel like there's a lot to Aya that we just didn't have the chance to know and learn about which is a shame in my opinion. Spending a few more pages on Claire and Aya's relationship and maybe even a bit of Aya's pov so we can learn that real her, would've been nice. I think other reviewers feel the same way.

I should have run from this story. I'm an emotional mess right now so what do I do? Read this.

This story packs a whole book into just a few pages. You go through every emotion known to man. Then I ended up crushed.

wow this one was brutal.

"Oh, my love. I know so little of you."

please don't hate me but claire was kinda annoying and i hated her. she was a spoiled little girl who took interest in anything that's new and shinny, without the consequences.

otherwise, the love story is tragic. Aya was doomed and i wished we knew more about her, her backstory, and who she was.

4.5 stars! Short stories often feel lackluster for me but this one managed to cover a lot without feeling too quick. I really enjoyed the way it was written, the story is essentially left up to interpretation when it comes to the motivations of the main character. It's quite dark and violent in some parts and honestly I can see this sticking with me.

Claire is coward and a very unreliable narrator. Her "love" for Aya looks more like possession, like Aya is a toy that she can play whenever she wants. Aya was really the only character I could empathize with and we know almost nothing about her. I usually love grey characters but Claire is just not for me.
