I finished this at 00:30. I'm not sure I'll be able to sleep.

First of all, Emil got himself into some love triangle and I hate it. Team Ness tho. And why so many people are so awful to him in so many ways? :( The boy seriously deserves some cuddles with phoenixes.

Second. WHAT THE FUCK WAS THIS OPEN ENDING, THIS WAS HORRIBLE

Third. About that same ending... I hope Brighton is eaten by phoenixes, vomited, run over by a car and then die in a trash can like the piece of shit we always knew he is.

Forth. I have to take a break for a few days years, thank you for understanding *goes to the other room, sobbing*

Conclusion: I will not sleep until the third book of this fucking trilogy and Adam doesn't give me back my heart. I'd also like a happy ending for Emil as a compensation but I'm not too hopeful about this. I also have some hopes for Mirabelle and Tala but... *sigh*

While some parts of this book was better and more fleshed out (the world building), some parts were still confusing (the powers and wands) and others suffered (character development). I think Emil's character was developed, although not as much as I would have liked. Others like Mirabella stayed so stagnent, and Brighton seemed almost like a cartoon villain. The plot was very convenient at times as well and everything just worked out a little too easily.
