This one didn't suck quite as hard as the first two, but was still predictable and mostly unsatisfactory. I have no idea why I read all three, except possibly the fact that I was desperate and had no other series at the tips of my fingers.

The only character I probably like are Simon and Isabella!
Yeah that’s it 🙃✨

The others just mid - and the main couple have tortured me for the past two books and this one is similar as well.

I just wanna know why miss author decided that some scenes needed the extra details when we realllly did not want to know it, but other scenes - that you would think is impactful- was just glossed over!!

I really liked this one! City of Ashes was definitely the lull in the series for me. I was so glad to finally have everything explained. I also loved learning that Jace and Will were relatives it makes perfect sense! The fact the she referenced something we learned in the Infernal Devices series also made me really happy! I was very very surprised that Valentine died! Wasn't expecting that to happen so early in the series. I gave it four stars because she so could have stopped here but clearly couldn't help herself. I probably would have given it 3.5 in reality. I hope the next ones good. Ill be curious to see what she does to keep it going. Since I could care less about Sebastian I hope she can hold my interest. As always love Magnus Bane there should be more of him always! I would like to know more of his background. I wish she would do a spin off series of him, a real one not little dumb novellas!

Tbh I had a little reading slump while reading it but I still enjoyed it. In this book everything happens what I wanted to so it gives a bit of a finale feeling. It could have ended like this even though there are still some questions. I do not know what to expect from the rest of the series but I hope it is going to be as good as this one. On my opinion, the third book was waaay better than the second one. Really liked it :)

I get really, really tired of interruption as a method for not providing characters with necessary details. If I can say, "Oh, here comes some critical data - I bet there's an interruption," And I'm right more than half the time, I want to cry.

That said, it was still a good read.

Still trying to decide if I want to continue with the series after this.

15/03/2016 UPDATE: Whoa it's been five years since I first read this book! I've submitted my last assignment for uni before the Easter holidays (which will last for a month!) today so I've spent the rest of my day reading more than half of City of Glass in one sitting. This is my favourite book out of the ones I've re-read so far and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time I read it. I feel like since Cassie already laid the foundation of the Shadowhunter world in the first two books, she didn't need to focus on world-building so much and she could afford to develop the story and the characters more in this book. Thus, this installment is action-packed with two main battles taking place and filled with great storylines for the secondary characters as well as the primary ones. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series again and then finally read Lady Midnight - which I feel like is laughing at me and taunting me from my shelf, but alas, I will be strong and wait until I've re-read the 4th, 5th and 6th TMI books before I read Lady Midnight.

PS: I find my 15yo self's review of this book from 5 years ago extremely entertaining and still very true. So continue reading and have a chuckle!

23/02/2011: Jace's Letter to Clary! Holy Jace Lightwood!! This was so sweet!!! (I think I got diabetes but in a totally good way!!) WHY CAN'T EVERY GUY SAY THAT?! Seems like they got mashed potatoes instead of that part of the brain that should make them romantic. *sigh* I want Jace!! (I have some competition there) But seriously, fictional characters are way better than real boyfriends. If you could make out with them too they would be perfect. lol =]
