While this is not one of LMA's best books, I still find it so charming.

Sweet and charming, but it was weird reading about children who weren't related to the Marches in some way.

When best friends, Jack and Jill, tumble off their sled, their injuries course them to be bedridden for many months. But the two still have some grand adventures.

The book was a challenging read as the language was very different. The story was also just not super engaging and if I wasn’t doing a specific reading challenge, I doubt I would have finished this book. I gave it a 2 instead of a 1 because the book was interesting in the sense of getting a peak into history through the lens of fiction, but I just genuinely could not wait to just be done with this book. Even the ending didn’t seem that great in my opinion. I was rooting for the characters and do think there were some interesting characters in this book that helped bring the score up to a 2 as well. I really loved Jill.

This book is far more interesting in the beginning (before Jill gets so saintly) than at the end.
