An incredibly complex book on the absurd. I highly suggest doing additional reading to understand this book. The footnotes are very long so prepare yourselves for that. It’s an incredibly intoxicating read. I’d highly recommend.

I have wanted to read this ever since watching a hilarious play adaptation of it some 5 years ago.
The book was funny and clever and completely absurd. But I liked that despite all the absurd elements there was still a coherent story tying it all together.
I liked the main character and thought he was quite relatable. He had a sort of detachment from the world around him, only wanting to retreat and study about De Selby, but kept getting dragged back into it.

A thought provoking and hilarious pancake, in dark and wry sort of way. Recommended for enjoyers of bicycles.
