This collection of short stories all follow the same template for set up- old lady complains about something awful in her life, she makes a connection with some body who is less than perfect, she gets annoyed, she kills them, and then gets away with it. The only one I really enjoyed was the one not written in her POV. Honestly, I don’t know if I want to read the other in the collection just to prove this hypothesis or to mark a series as finished. Either way it’s not because it’s good 😂

An anthology about a cunning old woman who kills people that slightly inconvenience her. This was hilarious
and what’s even funnier is she got away with all the murders. You go grandma.

Content warning: gore, violence, murder, toxic relationship

I'm probably missing some warnings, since it's been about a month since I read this. This was kind of cozy I guess, but I didn't really like the main character because she's not a good person.
She does bad things that she justifies in her mind as "because they deserved it" but most of the time it's just because she's selfish/doesn't want to face the consequences of her actions.
The book tries to make it just seem like she's old and quirky, but that doesn't justify most of what she does
which is murder, it's a lot of murder

A fun, and quick read. At times, it can be a bit confusing but the book is still enjoyable nonetheless.

Well written and darkly comedic, possibly just not my vibe though.
Tells the story of... well.. title says it all really.

Thematically this is a story of revenge and spite, and leaning hard into the Ageism that paints elderly women as powerless little-old-biddies who don't have all their faculties.
I found the humour hilarious when it was implicit, but a little frustrating when I would get a joke and then it was spelled out explicitly afterwards.

Maybe this woman is like a dowager Dexter. I wouldn't want to cross her!

I would classify this book as a cozy thriller. There aren’t high stakes but there is murder.

This book is a compilation of short stories about 89 year old Maud and her no good deeds. I am still not sure if I want her to succeed or get caught.
