I gave it 4 stars because I do think it's a 4 star story, but I HATED the audiobook. Wylie was so combative and aggressive with the two victims. My blood was boiling at how she was talking to them, but I think it was the narrator. Maybe it was written that way, but I think if I read it, I would've pictured a different tone in those conversations.

The Overnight Guest by Heather Gudenkauf is a phenomenal, fast-paced read. Guaranteed to give you the shivers, both from the story and the modern day setting during a blackout snowstorm.

While I did guess one of the twists, two others really shocked me because I had no clue that they were coming.

Thriller fans, buckle up and pre-order this winter read, releasing January 25!

This is a five star read for me.
