This book is practically perfect. Intersecting storylines separated by decades, a scary storm, a recluse, dangerous people, and a scary night in August.

Unfortunately pretty disappointed by this one. I picked it up after hearing it has a snowed-in winter setting. While the setting for that portion of the book WAS great for this time of year, I didn’t know that there were multiple timelines that wouldn’t revolve around that winter theme. I found the multiple timelines extremely predictable and I guessed the “twist” about who everyone was way too early on for my liking. Overall just not my cup of tea, maybe for people who haven’t read many thrillers yet!

The first few chapters of the book had so many typos that it almost made me give up in frustration, but I pushed through. The overall plot and story was really good and there were some interesting twists that kept me guessing. I liked it, but I’ve read so many other books that I would recommend before this one. The end of the book felt cheesy and rushed to me.

This was super entertaining. I thought the two (maybe three including the kid) main characters were likable and I was rooting for them. I did figure out every plot twist within the first three chapters or so but it still kept my interest!
I appreciated that while there was violence and hints of SA it was not explicit.
