This is a beautifully written book, almost poetic. It is a very fast read, with a strong story and compelling characters. I definitely recommend it.

Definitely enjoyable, although I think I wanted a lot more with the story and more about what happened, and more of everything. A story that mixed the post-apocalyptic tale with faerie pretty well. I just wanted more.

This series started me on the fantasy Fae journey that I still love. It is the first book which made me cry as an adult and I love the world building, the characters the plot everything really.

Post-apocalypse with a twist--the war was between humans and faeries. I'm a sucker for dystopias, and this one was unique and well drawn.

I sped through it eagerly. YA, & not a genre I've read before. Somewhat less-than-satisfying overall, but will keep going with the series.

This book really has so much promise that I'm more disappointed for it than anything. It started off really well. The writing is beautiful in it's simplicity, the characters are immediately likable and sweet. I was confused why people on my friend's list had rated it so low. As I kept going, I finally started going "Ah, now I see."

Unfortunately throughout 75% of this story, I felt like I had been dropped into a book halfway through. As though this was book three in a series and I hadn't read the first two. Nothing is ever really explained. The war, Faerie as a land, the extent of magic and who has it, what the world is really like now. It's all very shallow and self contained. Had the author opened it up to a grander scale, this would have been an incredible story.

As it is, I probably won't pick up the next book. But this was a quick and mildly fun read on its own.

I absolutely adored this book, i loved the adventure, i loved that there was no romance in the book, it was tropy, but i loved the book despite that. I adore Allie and I really like all the other characters and I can’t wait to get my hands on the sequel.
