The storyline was confusing at times but I enjoyed it immensely. The dream sequences (which was apparently Tiffany trying to talk to the girls??) was a cool addition too. I thought it was just some messed up dreams the girls were all having because of their trauma bonding but making it not just dreams but an addition to the already messy timeline was really cool.
What I didn't vibe with was Mac's treatment of KJ after finding out KJ was a lesbian. They were friends way before Mac found out about KJ or learned about their kiss so I don't understand her reason for pushing KJ or hurting her in that way. There was also several other times were Mac should homophobic/lesbophobic tendencies. This graphic novel should have had trigger warnings at the beginning for things like this because I didn't expect it AT ALL and was very surprised when it happened.

This series weaves together a complex narrative in a way that never crossed into overwhelming. Information is spread across different timelines and the reveals always came when they feel right and rewarding to figure out. It's exciting to find out the relevance of actions and words in previous chapters as you learn more about the past and the future alike.
The cast of characters have heaps of messy personality. None are perfect people and don't pretend to be, opening up room for growth throughout the story. You can then see that growth reflected back towards the end, drawing the story to a satisfying conclusion.
The artwork throughout is clean and detailed. The different time periods show great variety in architecture and even the colour schemes. From the character designs to the variety of technology, there's a lot to love throughout.
There was also a point where timelines split that was shown in the formatting of the pages which I found really cool. A really creative and fun use of the format.
Overall, this series tells a complex story with themes a lot of people can relate to told in a larger than life way. Though the story can seem a little complicated at first, it's worth sticking through and seeing it to the end. I think I definitely made the right choice in buying the full collection edition.
