Marriage of convenience. Fake dating. He fell first. Grumpy X sunshine. Dual POV. Need I say more. This book pulled at my heart. Their love felt so real and infectious. The illness part and how she and he dealt with it really struck out to me, as someone who is ill and always in hospital, I hope to one day have someone like Jack by my side. Some real lovable side characters. The vibe is amazing. It’s so so well written.I just love this book.

Im a sucker for marriage of convenience and a fun romance but i found this book was a bit of a slog to get through. Could have been 100 pages shorter, I didn't much care for the characters, the many long speeches, the stalkerish behaviour of the MMC or the illness plot. I could have forgiven some of these things more if I was having fun with it but I was mostly a bit bored.

⚠️TW/CW: Medical issues and family issues⚠️

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I was hooked from the first page and I couldn't put it down for days! I love Jack and Rose! They are really good characters and I loved reading both of their POV's. One of my big fears when reading romance is that the FMC is going to be a pick me or make stupid decisions but Rose was very realistic and also very blunt at times. I really like how she was straight forward alot and didn't beat around the bush! It was really refreshing. I'm also a sucker for books where the MMC is infatuated and head over heels with the FMC and that's how Jack was. I just love both of them so much! There are so many other things in this book that I want to talk about but this review won't do it justice so just read this book! It's amazing and I can't wait to read more by this author!

“Your heart always has a home with me.”

4.5/5 ⭐️

Good sweet gods in heaven did this book have me in a chokehold. This is the first romance book I’ve truly fallen in love with since reading The Fine Print last year. I was actually excited to pick this up. I can’t resist the grumpy/sunshine trope, but this book had me with the dry humour, the slow burn and just small cute things that made my heart melt.

I feel like I’m a lot like Rose, I’m the hopeless romantic who wants little traditions like pasta Monday’s and seeing it all happen on the page for her? GORGEOUS 🥺 I really loved these two characters. Will definitely be looking at Ella’s other works. This was damn near perfect for me.

TWs: unsupportive family, surgery, health anxiety

This was a Bookstagram made me do it type of read. I was in the mood for some fake marriage romance and this book DELIVERED. It was a slow burn and every bit of tension was scrumdelicious 🤤

Jack Hawthorne was the perfect book hubby, he was broody and stern and completely OBSESSED with his missus, and I ate that shit up. Yes he lied BUT even that was perfect, because everything he did, he did because he wanted her to be safe and happy doing what she loved, what more can you ask???

Rose was a sweet and lovable FMC, she wasn’t the brightest light in the room sometimes, but her heart was always in the right place. I love how she was passionate and fought so hard to reach her dream despite everything life threw at her.

Well obviously I loved that book so why the weird rating? This book was on his way to be a solid 4 ⭐️ so what happened? That unnecessary third break up act did. I mean they already took forever to get together, they were happy for 5 seconds and then boom?? Honestly made no sense to me, especially when she knew she was going to forgive him anyway 😒 so yeah couldn’t get past that shitshow and if I ever get my hands on Josh, he’s a dead man for sure
