This book is a read at your own risk & take caution because you will be concerned! I recommended this as a book my bestfriend and I read together because the reviews were so great and now she will never trust me to pick a book again! This book made me say what the fuck every few pages, so many times that I had to question why I continued to read it. But once you start you feel like you HAVE to know what's next. The FMC and her actions make you go this can't be serious to the point you literally just MUST know how she develops throughout the story (I wont give it away). Anyways although I was completely thrown by the great reviews strewn across the back and inside cover of this book (there shouldn't have been so many in my opinion to the point where im rpetty sure we all read different books).
However, I finished this book then recommended it to another friend because I needed another person to take this wild ass journey with me and i was happy to give her my copy to borrow which she called and said your margin commentary is spot on.

Will I read it again? Absolutely tf not. Will I recommend it to someone else? Yes, yes I will! Why? I have no idea but if you're on the fence about it, read it then come find me so we can talk about it! Goodluck!

What a gorgeous novel! Leilani's prose has teeth. Although the book is light on traditional plot, it reads like a thriller. The relationships in this book are so fraught that I found myself holding my breath more than once, waiting to see what would happen next.

The writing was so gorgeous, am i supposed to just believe this was her debut??

Literally such a phenomenal read, cause being in my 20’s and reading this, I felt scared, thrilled, grossed out, let down, pumped up, and oddly understood, all at once!!

Floored by the gorgeous, exacting and evocative writing, the realness of Edie, and the way her story is told. Damn. Devoured this in one sitting.
