A typical ERB adventure novel, but it's not without its charm. It deals with a scientist who is trying to create human-like lifeforms. He moves to Borneo to continue his projects, but of course his daughter is kidnapped and one of his creatures falls in love with her. You could totally stick Tarzan into the role of the creature and it wouldn't change a thing and would be part of the Tarzan series instead.

This is a fun adventure, problematic yes but fun. The ending was really stupid and lowered my rating.

OK so not the best ERB story but I did like it better than The Moon Maid. This book took me forever to finish just because it was difficult to get into. But it picked up towards the end and had a weak but cute ending. I love ERB books because the leading men are always unrealistically brave and strong, and there's nothing wrong with a good old damsel in distress scenario.
