It's an alright book but that unreliable narration makes it hard to understand the book

Gangsters galore!

This is quite a book. You've got double cross after double cross. There are all kinds of gun battles and I'm not really sure who won. But it was really good book!

This series just gets better and better. Wings and Destruction was great and Blood and Rebellion overpowered the greatness scale! It was such a great sequel. Angels and Vampires are rarely seen in the same world and DeRosa does an excellent job and bringing them to life on the pages. Liv and Declan are such great, well written characters and the author does a fantastic job at making them feel real.

Blood and Rebellion is such a fast paced read, you'll be craving more in no time! I cannot wait for book 3 to be available to read!

I really did not like this book. It's absurd and meant to be funny, but I honestly just found it grotesque.

The book is primarily written from Monica Ludds perspective: a woman who has been abused by her father throughout her childhood and has gone on to become a robust (assistant) deputy head teacher. She is not likeable. Gee creates a character who is decidedly unfeminine - loud, talk and brash - in an attempt to be off putting, but really I think the issue with Monica is how unreflective she is. Throughout the book there are recounts of violent domestic abuse from Monica’s childhood, and it’s meant dark and humorous but I just found it upsetting.  The plot follows Monica and her siblings as they discover their nearly dead/murdered father and deal with the fall out. The sibling characters and mother figure were interesting to read about and they definitely grounded the narrative a little. I just found this book absurd and many of the characters grotesque.

I already found dentists suspicious.

We begin right where book one ended. It is a captivating read from beginning to the end, and what an explosive ending it was. I was left speechless with the curveballs that are thrown at you in this book. I'm not gonna lie I did need to go back and re-read some things, because I was blown away at what had transpired. Bella J has really and truly outdone herself with this book. We get a whole lot of things in this book. We get deceit, love, loyalty, romance and a smidge of suspense and mystery.

Castello and Tatum are testing the waters of what their lives should be like. The love and devotion they both have is unwavering. Yes it is true their relationship definitely did not start out the conventional way, but their way works for them. Truths come to light and those who have been deceitful need to be dealt with. Along the way Castello teaches Tatum how to be The perfect queen in his kingdom. The strength and determination that Tatum has grown so much in this book.

These beautiful poems are simple and accessible, which makes them powerful, as the reader can connect their own experience to the work. It makes me want to write about the women in my family.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

When I was asked to review this book, I said yes. It looked familiar, and it was on my to-read list on Goodreads, so I didn't think too much about it when I started reading it. It wasn't until I finished it that I realized that this was the newly published author that Gracen Miller had bossed me to check out. Which brings me to a point...

This is Cozie W. Harmon's first book! Wow! I'm very impressed and, Gracen, thank you for bossing me to give into your whims!

Onyx was, hands down, my favorite. She was awesome.

There are times where I feel it was a bit confusing, especially where Rispa was concerned. Either it was a little rushed or I missed something, but I had to go back a re-read some parts a few times.

For the most part, it was an exciting read and I can't wait to read more from this author. 4/5 Platypires

I loved the premise of this book straight away, not to mention the cover and title grabbed me so I had to give it a try. The spy's are incredible I loved the look at gadgets and background so much, also a few twists and turns along with an interesting case throughout. Which had me from start to finish and damn what an ending, I enjoyed it so much!

Dresden and Roche are fascinating, I liked the alternate povs and how we got to see them both kick ass and show their talents in the best way possible. This book has a great plot and action, not to mention a really slow burn romance that was so great and felt like such a natural development between these two.

I think the only thing I'm sad about is how short it is as I would have loved to see progress of relationship and their next case/how everything was handled. Just the general aftermath would have been awesome to see, overall though this was a fascinating and amazing fast paced read that I enjoyed so much.

Even though I was assured this story was a standalone, I’m a stickler for order. So I purchased and read Enigma, the first Russ Morgan mystery, and was even more excited to read the second in what I hope is going to be an ongoing series.

Ellis Landry hires Russ Morgan to find out who vandalized his sister’s marijuana grow. What starts out as a simple investigation of a vandalism incident turns out to be much more complicated as Morgan assesses the dynamics of the Ellis/Landry clans using his empathic abilities and, as other facts and feelings begin to emerge, he decides to carry a firearm.

When Russ is not unraveling a tangled web of lies and deception, he is scared of his developing relationship with Colin Stewart, a paralegal he met during his first case, and a man nearly half his age. Russ has achieved sobriety, but still deals with pain from his past. Fortunately, Colin is very patient and mature for his years.

This was a clever, engaging, and thoughtful mystery that deals with toxic families and the fragility of new relationships. I loved the first-person narration of this story that allowed me to connect with Russ on a deeper level and I enjoyed alternating glimpses of his professional and personal life. He’s a very likable, well-rounded character who is easy to spend time with.

I very much look forward to more Russ Morgan stories.
