This was really well done. A lottt darker than I expected and darker than her other books I’ve read I believe (though those definitely have dark parts as well) but really liked the character development and dynamics between the 4 main characters as well as how that evolved
Definitely a good (if hard at times) read :)

The story is good, Briar is a strong female character but I don’t buy the bodyguard reverse harem.

Luckily there is a strong stalker plot because as much as I loved these three guys, Glen was my favorite and I wanted to keep him for myself.
I am not a sharing person after all.
The smut is good and detailed as much as it can be.

As for the reverse harem I preferred Knot so lucky from Trilina PUCCI.

Please check the trigger warning.

Yeah I didn’t love this one for Matt alone. He was annoying and overbearing in the worst way. He had a sad backstory I guess, but the way he spoke to the main character, Briar, was a no for me. He just gave the ick so quick with the way he thinks and speaks which sucks cause I did enjoy the other two guys, Kenta and Glen.
I mean the scenes were written fine I just couldn’t get over my dislike for Matt.

Crying score: I would cry if a men ever spoke to me the way Matt did out of pure anger.

Lily Gold writes a great RH but this is the 3rd I’ve read and it’s clear that they all follow a very similar rhythm so it gets pretty predictable in a way that makes me unmotivated to read her other books. I get that she’s got a niche going, but I feel like there must be a way to add some variety in there.

Otherwise, I mostly enjoyed this book but it’s hard to really engage with the suspense of a stalker when you know it’s gonna be a HEA. I think she writes the trauma elements well, but I just didn’t really buy into the romance of this one, sadly!
