I met Carrie last year at a book release event at one of my favorite book shops, and she read an excerpt from this longer poem. A compelling and emotional exploration of the impact of climate change on the American Midwest, through the lens of her hometown in Illinois. Truly a gift to find and read this small pamphlet after frequently recalling the extract I had heard.
