Holy shit I was so bored. This is what my mom thinks when she talks about not liking romance.

It's Rory's turn! This is a fun book and it was nice to see the healer Buchanan brother meet his match. And he does meet his equal in Elysande - an English nobelwoman who's house has come under siege. Tasked with taking her to safety and getting an important message to the King, Rory finds himself in trouble. Not only having to outrun the men who seek her but also having to control his feelings for the wee english lass. Elysande is a great pairing for Rory. She's strong, smart and brave (and despite spending pretty much the entire novel injured) you can see how fiercely she protects her own.

I didn't find the plot as interesting as in the other books of the series. For so much of it it didn't feel like a lot was happening. And yes the events in the book occur over just a week or two, but I just wanted a bit more action. although there is plenty of romantic action which was nice to see develop.

Just one brother left. Excited to see Alick fall.

I enjoyed Rory's story- he appears in all the others books one way or another. Eylsande is a strong woman who has lost a lot and whose stayed strong throughout. she is on a mission to save the king and won't stray from her goal.

I have to say the story did slow in the middle and I wish the story wasn't only within the journey. they barely made it the Rory home before they fell in love
I did have to wonder how much more pain my girl could take because wow was she hurt

the ending was beautiful and lovely

Good until the epilogue who thinks bringing 150 Englishmen to the Highlands is a good idea what an actual headache

Insta love :( and written with cringe romance dialogue at times, but super clever plot!!! I literally loved the plot.

I've been having a rough time recently and Highland Treasure really hit the spot for me. It had all of what makes Lynsay Sands's novels so enjoyable; a great sense of humour, a decent amount of steam, a grand adventure, and a likable couple at the centre. I've been looking forward to Rory's story as well, and his relationship with Elysande is just so sweet and tender.

I will note that this particular book has more specific historical details than I recall the rest of the series having? It was honestly a bit jarring just because a lot of that aspect wasn't what I would call seamless. They refer to Edward III being in his 20s (which was in the 1330s-40s), the Black Death being several years in the past (it ended in the 1350s), and obviously everyone is wearing kilts (which did not exist until the late 16th century). I like when historical romance novels include little details that place them at a specific point in time or feature a story specific to the problems of the day, etc, but historical accuracy isn't generally a priority for me when I am reading a fictional story about fictional people (although it is something I enjoy when I notice it). I did want to note this though because the way the details failed to line up here was honestly just distracting.

ANYWAY. I did enjoy the book very much (even with the flaws I found distracting), and most others who have been following along the series should find this to be an enjoyable new volume in the series.

I was a cute story. I wasn't feeling the epilogue though... the ending was TOO perfect, if you get what I mean.
