This could’ve been an easy 5 star if the ending didn’t feel so rushed.
Over all a quick, twisty read!

Couldn’t get into the audiobook. It may fare better reading a physical copy. May return to it later.

I enjoyed this less as a thriller and more as a revenge fantasy. Women deserve revenge.

It really made me think about the idea of the collective; a group of mothers, mourning for the loss of their children and taking revenge.

A unique idea for a group to banned together for a common cause, helping each other murder their children's murder.

The author has done a great job writing this story.
You could feel every mother's pain and rage, as if you're also part of the collective.
The pain of losing a child is the most horrendous nightmare for a parent, I felt Camille's pain and I cried whenever she mentioned her daughter.
And Luke! I thought he was such a wonderful character, however I thought there was going to be more scenes with him but...
Spoiler
I thought it was a nice but bittersweet touch to read in Luke's POV.
I felt so bad for him. Camille was family to him, as he was to her.
The idea of Luke having Emily's heart was beautiful, that scene made me cry the most.

The more I delved into the story, the more I was convinced that the collective was just in Camille's head. As if she wished such a group existed and to take revenge. But it was real. Hats off for not making the MC crazy and not making it "it was all in her head".
I wish there was more about Joan, I felt that there wasn't enough of her to sympathize with with Joan's mom, who turns out to be 0001 and fake Wendy.
The idea of her being 0001 wasn't not enough of a "big reveal".
Yes, there were a few misdirections but the exposè seemed off, in my opinion.

The ending was alright. It made sense for Camille to die in the hands of the collective but I hoped deep down that someone would walk into her house last minute to somehow rescue her. But I'm also glad it ended the way it did.

All in all, it's a 4.75 for me. It's a good read. It got me out of my reading slump.
I'm not a fan of these type of genres but after listening  a lot of true crimes, I'm glad I picked up this book.
