It's not a new favorite of mine, but I can see why this trilogy is considered a staple in both mm romance and enemies to lovers romance

Wow, incredible! A truly thrilling end to the series, I couldn't put it down! An excellent climax to the story, and an excellent maturation of the relationship. From the first book, I didn't know how on earth their relationship could ever grow into a loving one, there was so much anger and rightful distrust and hatred, but the second book did an excellent job developing it into one of mutual respect, and this last one truly grew it into love. Truly, an excellent example of slow burn, enemies to lovers, with all the wonderful trappings of the court, war, and intrigue. I can see myself rereading this series for years to come.

I got into the last book thinking C.S. Pacat would go easy on us … but I was mistaken. She brings it all.
The unfolding of the final part was interesting and captivating and I nearly read it through in one night. It gave us a satisfying finale to the triology.
The reason why I only give it 4 stars is that the ending was a bit too abruptly . Maybe an epilogue of some kind might have given a little help with closure.

“That’s right. He is Charls. I am Charls. We are cousins,” said Charls, gamely, “named after our grandfather. Charls.”

Really good, it was written in a way so you had no idea how it would end. And I really liked the end.
