Honestly I’d probably say I give it 4.75 stars. HEAVILY biased because of “Chase Brannan.” 😂 I think I was always classically conditioned to love him due to the closeness to my husband’s name.

ANYway, I only docked that teeny bit because I found some of Chase and Bee’s conversations to be repetitive, and there was a little stint in the middle where I thought the pacing was too slow. Maybe I’m being a hard ass about the repetitive stuff, because both of them probably needed reassurance. We all know the road was a bumpy one!

Other than that, I’d have given it 5 stars! I loved Chase’s personality, I guess in my head I didn’t know he’d be like THE biggest softie of all of the guys! 😂 I was pleasantly surprised by that. Maybe a little more than usual with this series, I found myself choked up at a lot of the found family bits; the part at the end reminded me how much I really loved all the characters and going on their journeys with them! I’m honestly a little sad it’s over! Anyway, loved it. And I think we can all agree about this relationship…FINALLY!

I'm not a betting man, but I'd bet on you.  I'd bet on us.  Every time.  All in.

Thank you for letting me read and review the ARC of "Betting Man".  I LOVED the final book in the Beaufort Poker Club series (which I found in January and absolutely devoured)!

I've enjoyed this entire journey with the BPC, and Bridget and Chase were worth the wait.  I had so many emotions while reading this, and I appreciate how Maggie handled Bridget's trauma and the ups-and-downs in their relationship.  Goodness....I cried.  I smiled.  The sexual chemistry between these two had me sweating!  (The discussion on proclivities, boundaries, and consent!  YES! I am here for all of that!)

Maggie provided a lovely summary of expectations for some of the difficult content in this book, and it was such an experience to feel what Bridget was going through, as well as watching Chase figure out how he could be accepting and supportive of her healing (and recognizing that he had some healing to do, as well).

Chase. Chase. Chase.  I just don't have words.

I keep recommending this series every chance I get.  I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  The characters feel real, the emotions are raw, the tension palpable, and the spice is *chef's kiss*.  Start with Poker Face.  You won't regret it!

Now, as a last request (and I can't be the only one thinking about it), I hope there is some future book in store for our favorite firefighter, Austin Hale.  I live three houses down from the fire department, and every time I walk my dog, I keep an eye out for him!

I'll keep an eye out for my invite to poker night, but until then...
Happy Reading!

♥️ ARC REVIEW ♥️
Betting Man, @authormaggiegates
Pub date: May 2, 2022
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

♦️ First, I want to say “thank you” to Maggie for sending me an advance copy to read and enjoy in exchange for an honest review. I couldn’t be more thankful if I tried.

♠️ When I tell you this was a bombshell of an ending to the #BeaufortPokerClub series, please believe me. I was crying from page one and cheering on each and every character. I think a piece of my heart lives in Beaufort. If you haven’t read books 1-5, are you even a reader? (Kidding, but read them).

♥️ That satisfying ending you’re wanting? Let’s just say it’s that and so much more (without giving it away). Decades of foreplay ending in the climax with an emotional roller coaster between is just *chefs kiss*

♣️ I finished this book a solid 9 hours ago and I’m still having trouble forming the words needed to convey how much I loved this. The characters are so relatable and lovable, the situations are real, & the books make you feel like you’re friends, too.

- it’s safe to say I LOVED it. Thank you, again, Maggie. I can’t wait to see what you do next!
