Super sexy safety Cory wants to make his ex jealous. Cutesy wallflower PR girl Giana wants the attention of a guitar playing hottie. So they fake date until Giana confesses she's a virgin and wants sex lessons. Then the good times roll.

This was a fun, easy, fast read that was sexy, cute, funny and endearing. The main characters and the supporting characters were all likeable, and the villains were well done too. The third act breakup was kinda messy but I don't care much for those as a whole anyway. Otherwise, I quite liked this one. This was my first book by this author and I will probably read the rest of the series as well.

I picked this one up because I liked the cover. Another point advocating for hotties on book covers, not childish illustrations.

3.5 stars. This was a overall solid fake dating book. I didn't hate it but there was nothing to scream and cry over either. This is basically the tale as old as time trope of shy, quiet wallflower like girl and popular football boy faking a relationship for their own personal reasons and then real feeling develop and lines get blurred. It was cliche but I still ate it up. I loved Giana though. She was amazing and you can really see her character development throughout the book. Clay was alright as well although him calling her "kitten" gave me the ick so badly. Also take a shot every time someone arches their brow lol. That was written so many times. The outfits were so descriptive too. I don't think they were bad outfits though so that's a positive. Anyways this was still a pretty good book.

I can proudly say this is probably one of my favorite books of 2023.

Clay is the best safety NBU has ever seen and Giana is the PR coordinator of the Rebels, and they fall into a fake dating scheme to mutually benefit their separate love lives - Giana wanting to date a hot musician from school and Clay wanting to get his ex back. But as they learn more about each other, the lines between fake and real begin to blur.

This book is everything to me. Giana is a great self-insert character for the nerdy bookworms in the world who want a gorgeous athlete to sweep them off their feet and Clay is THE book boyfriend (he literally reads her smutty romance books to learn what she likes.)

This was probably my quickest read this year and I wouldn’t be surprised if I reread this before the year is over. Clay and G will probably haunt my brain forever and I’m grateful for it.
