Yeah, for office romance!

For the people that don't pay attention to the blurb, yes the author does warn you there are kinky and BDSM moments in this book. I for one love a good scene and the final final chapter did not disappoint. Kinda wish more had happened with sniveling Jana but glad Tori ended up with a champion at the office.

Truthfully, I am up in the air on this one. At first, this book was amazing. Strong character development, interesting storyline, but then it fell flat.

Don’t get me wrong, I love instalove stories and suspenseful backgrounds. But this one had quite a bit of plot holes. Some of the subplots got lost throughout the story. There were several chapters to build up the characters and the storyline and once you hit the instalove section, the story felt rushed to the end.

Honestly, it felt underdeveloped and forced. I’ve known this to be an issue with authors in the past when deadlines are approaching.

I just wished for more.

Outside of the incomplete subplots, I was disappointed in the DOM aspect of the story. Both the title and blurb lead you to expect a decent BDSM juxtaposition but this one was lacking. Perhaps protective alpha would be a more appropriate description.

It was OK. Definitely worth giving a chance and the author’s writing is good in general.

*Audiobook*

Loved it, short and sweet no unnecessary dramas, just the way I like it.

The narration was done beautifully!

Loved the characters all strong and confident.

I am looking forward to the rest of the series to be made into audiobooks!

I finished this book within a couple of hours, I though it was fast paced, I kinda felt like it was missing something. It was very, very mild with the BDSM aspect of the story. I'm thinking and hoping that maybe it is building up for the rest of the series

She writes and develops characters well but the book felt flat and not very interesting. Plot and conflict were weak.

Great start

Loved this first book and I can’t wait for the next. I love the balance of sex and the story

This is one hot book, and yet the characters are well developed and I really felt for them. I really loved the engagement party scene and how it tied back into the beginning of the story. I definitely want more from this series!

So the beginning was promising, I really loved Tori and her no nonsense attitude and Bryant had some potential but that’s about it. I was expecting things to happen when really this is just a very simple romance.

The biggest issue I have is it started to feel like the story was just a bullet pointed list of things that need to happen in order for these to characters to get together. I mean, one second they’re discussing bdsm the next he’s asking her to marry him?? I had whiplash, the pacing was awful. I was hoping Bryant wouldn’t be the typical alpha male who doesn’t like his woman getting on with other men but, alas, he fell directly into that trap. Some of the writing was a bit too cringe worthy too, I mean, I don’t find the idea of ‘creaming’ anything sexy at all so to read that multiple times throughout was just totally off putting.

Anyway, the two stars are for Tori because I do really like her as a character. I just wish the story she was in was a bit more fleshed out and a little less instalove.
