A story about a family who went through difficult health issues, told in an entertaining fashion, but about the heaven part, gimme a break and also see

I liked the author's sense of humor, and luckily just at the point that he was getting serious and I was starting to gag, the book ended. Is that music from the Twilight Zone I hear playing in the background?

This was a book club selection, and I can only hope the woman who recommended it as a "must read" also has a sense of humor.

Simplistic writing with a complex message is how I'd describe this book. I love Colton's innocence and the way he causes his father to look at all things Christian just a little bit differently. Did Colton really see Heaven? I don't suppose anyone but Colton and God really know, but his reactions and questions and statements are quite convincing. This is a heartwarming story, and if you've ever wondered about Heaven and what it might be like, this is a good place to start...other than your Bible of course.

Had a hard time reading this because I’m not religious at all. My boyfriends parents decided to lend me their copy because they know I enjoy reading. It was a cute miracle story and a very quick read. I do enjoy reading about religion and learning about what others might believe in. Combined with short chapters, interviews, and inserts of pictures, this was easy to cruise through in an hour and a bit. It was nice of them to think of me but this isn’t one id particularly recommend.

You obviously need to be sympathetic to the idea of heaven to pick up this book in the first place and it is heavily Christianized. You're not going to convert anyone by this story or convince anyone that heaven is real. But it's such a short read, it was real for this family, and the story is warming my heart reading it.

(Though by the end of the book I was super skeptical about all the religious undertones and the biblical references, it could have been a nice story but I felt in the end it was preachy mc preach a lot).

I'm not really sure why I bought this book, but I did and it forced me to read it. I'm a skeptic, and honestly, this book didn't really change my mind. When I finished the book, all I could think was, "That was cute." I saw someone else commented on this, but I always want to comment on this. One of the things that bothered me the most was when Colton freaked out at the funeral, wondering if the man believed in Jesus. It just doesn't seem right. Anyway, I didn't think the book was particularly bad. It just wasn't really for me, but I could see why many people would like it.

It is very convincing! And I'm crying for the most part of it.
