Recent Miles Franklin winner for The Labyrinth, Amanda Lohrey is quite a writer.

What starts as the domestic travails of a couple in their 30s, one an academic and the other a counsellor, shifts from its expected course. If you are looking to read an extended discussion of precision flying, you’ve come to the right place!

But the at times surprising threads are well gathered and woven.

Very well observed, sharply written.

Very interesting read. Shifts in who the main character is. Get male/female perspectives. Touched by the pregnancy story.
