5 stars, 10/10, excellent read. Witty dialogue with laugh-out-loud one-liners, a poignant slow-burn-turned-🌶️🌶️, cliché in all the right ways. Read this in one sitting on the plane and absolutely loved Landon and Casey. Also, always enjoy a good hockey book. What a READ.

Another example of how I know the rest of the world is dumb AF. Reviews complaining about perspective shirting from first to third? That was fucking perfect. That is like my new favorite thing in the world. All the best of both worlds. Reviews randomly complaining about things? God. Idk why I bother reading reviews it just makes me mad. This was really good. I'm going into a book slump after. I can feel it. The demi sexual, ADHD/autism subtle rep. The fact that they never had anal sex and that was never a probably or issue because penetrative sex isn't the be all end all. Excellent. Excellent. Phenomenal. The kind of book that makes you wonder why anyone bothers writing any other book at all when this perfection already exists

This book, to me, is perfect: friends/idiots to lovers, soft, very well written, deep and relatable characters, long conversations, real hockey, no NHL homophobia, demi-rep, CHRISTMAS. I have been a fan of Rachel Reid for a long time and I think that (gasp) this book might be my favorite of hers ?? Above all game changers series ?? Excellent book. Excellent!

I went into this book excited for a cute, spicy hockey romance but unfortunately this book dragged on for way too long, didn’t have much plot, had a, to me, very confusing writing style (dual third person trying to be first person??) and the spice (which they made you wait over 50% of the book for) felt bland and repetitive.
It felt like the author saw the hype around hockey romances at the moment and decided to try and capitalise on said hype without a clear storyline (or any resolution really for the what felt like scraps of storylines we got) for this book at all.
