This was sooo much better, I’m glad I gave the series another chance. This book was really fast paced and the plot picked up too. I still don’t like the characters all that much and honestly I still don’t care about the world too much, but at least it was fun to read this time.

I've been feeling a bit enh about this series on the whole - I liked it enough to read the next book, but not enough to rave about them. I must say though that this third installment kept me entirely gripped from start to finish and now I'm really looking forward to the next one!
I'm not giving it five stars only because I still have trouble caring about many of the characters and there's something about the complexity of the world building that feels just a little contrived - and I really want to love the romance with the Warden but I'm just not completely convinced. That said, this is an exciting, entertaining read.
