While I did find the central mystery of the book fascinating, and the main character's distinct voice in her diary entries very enjoyable, i didn't really vibe with the experimental format of the book (entirely through diary entries, reports, letters, etc.). It was kind of interesting because it was new to me, but it created a sense of distance from the story and ruined some of the suspense for me. I feel like this is the sort of format that'd be very hit-or-miss for people, and for me it was a miss.
also. The LGBT representation in this series, especially when it comes to nonbinary characters, makes me very happy.
