Great worldbuilding and beautiful language as always from this author. I'm still freaked out and intrigued. I want more Sho and Naoki.

Sho had become a giant, and Naoki was small in his embrace.
But still, Naoki knew him.
And he stroked his palms over Sho’s angular face, and laid his cheek to his chest, and listened to the pounding thunder of a heart that had finally, finally begun to beat.
Naoki’s heart beat in time.

Oh my giddy aunt, what in the world is going on in Marrow?

In Phase One, Sho was suffering from a super strange condition that had his teeth falling out and slime oozing from his body. In Phase Two, he’s growing and growing and growing.

But Sho isn’t the only one who has something bizarre happening to him. People with a mouth that bites and talks growing on the back of their necks. A little old lady who becomes a tall, stone statue. Strange indeed.

Still the sun doesn’t rise. Birds, frogs and fish, are going through a metamorphosis too. Oh my goodness.

Xen’s writing is tying me in knots. This story is full of mystery and wonder. I think I might have nightmares but I don’t care. I need to know that Sho is going be ok and how the hell is Marrow going to get back to normal.

I still can't rate this series, but oh my.
It's the best, the worse, doing very well what it's trying to do.
I'm scared, creeped out and very attached to all of marrow's residents.

This world is just so fascinating to me! I thought I'd gotten a sense of where the story was headed based on Phase One, but I was completely wrong!

In small Marrow, the moon rose one evening then never set again. The citizens of Marrow are trapped in an endless night -- but the outside world is totally fine. In fact, the people who have left Marrow are no longer able to get back in.

And if that isn't strange enough, now the people of Marrow are starting to *transform.*

Everyone is still trying to understand what is happening and what should be done -- and then we have Naoki as he tries to tend to his dearest, closest friend Sho, scared and uncertain but unflinching in his certainty that whatever happens, they have to stay together.

As I said in my review of Phase One, the atmosphere and ambience of this series is *incredible*. I am so, so, *so* curious about what is going to happen next!
