I first read this book as a teenager and absolutely loved it - a decade later I still re-read it all the time.

Geweldig boek.

This is another Sarah Dessen book that I don’t remember really caring for as a teen, but now it’s one of my faves from her. The side characters have a lot of personality, much like the ones in Keeping the Moon. I’m learning I’m a sucker for Dessen’s parentalized teens with distant parents.

Entering my reviews over from my old Goodreads profile I unearthed recently...here are some super sappy thoughts from 2009-era 14-year-old Claire!

This book is amazing. That's really all I can say.

Wait, one more thing:

SA-WOON.

One of my favorite books of all time. I read it first as a middle schooler and I felt I could relate to it so much.

I loved this book and I flew through it! I loved the romance, but also the amazing perspective it gave me on what's really important and in the fact that perfection is not attainable and trying to attain often causes more problems than it solves. I loved the cover too. I am really looking forward to reading more Sarah Dessen books as this was the first one that I read, but I loved this book and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a refreshing and fun YA read. (:

This book is what made me fall in love with Sarah Dessen.

Macy herself was a wonderfully writ character. I felt like I was right there with her throughout the entire story. And Wes! I fell in love with him right away.

In some books, the side story can get kind of annoying or you get tired of reading it. Not this book. While I was anxiously awaiting the next romantic parts, I was also awaiting the catering part as well.

Dessen made a wonderful novel that I will keep in my collection for as long as I live. This book had so much depth and real life to it. The side characters were equally as interesting and still had that depth that Macy and Wes had.

By far my favorite book.
