I am not a big comic reader, but this one was pretty good, especially in terms of developing Ashe.
(I still don't get what's Sejuanis problem. As far as I can tell, she and her people are making life harder for everyone than it needs to be.)
I also love the gorgeous illustrations.

One day I was scrolling through Twitter and saw that Marvel and Riot Games were about to release a graphic novel. As a big fan of League of Legends, I was instantly very excited! That excitement only grew when the first champion they were covering turnt out to be Ashe, my main ever since I have started playing. I believe this is the first in a series, either of just Ashe or the League champions in general and I can't wait until the next issue!

First impression when I received this was very good. As you can see, the cover is GORGEOUS! And the amazing art extended to the contents of the graphic novel aswell. The artstyle really fits the featured characters and the environment and really helps bring the story to life! I also want to give a big thumbs up for the chosen colour palette. It's very blue/white centered without much colour variation, but the artists went with 'less is more'

I really loved the plot. The story is about young Ashe and how she became the archer she is today really. Even though I feel like this arc isn't done yet, it's already so detailed and important to understand Ashe as a character. I am glad Riot has decided to write lore for their characters.
Before reading this, I barely knew anything of the champions in League, so I also didn't expect Ashe to have such a personal relationship with another. It was really interesting to see how certain people and certain events really affected Ashe over a relatively short amount of time. The story felt impactful and the events really mattered. I didn't read it like 'Oh so that happened.', but I stayed on the edge of my seat, emerged into the story and feeling with and for the main characters.

The dynamics between the story the art tells and the one the text tells is really good. There is only so much either can tell and they work together in harmony to give the reader the most. Of the fairly small amount of comics and graphic novels I have read in the past, I count this one to one of my faves!

I would very much recommend this graphic novel to everyone, not just to fans of League of Legends! You don't really need to know anything about the universe to get the story and enjoy it, as this graphic novel is, among other things, one of the few attempts of Riot Games to add lore to their game. Even if you aren't a gamer, this is one awesome stand-alone story.
